The Osceola County Board of Supervisors tabled action on a contractor quote to polish and refinish the courthouse floors, asking staff to obtain additional bids before approving the work.
Staff presented a single bid of $3,200 (exclusive of tax) and said the county previously paid $2,750 in an earlier cycle for a similar job. Supervisors expressed interest in getting another quote because there were few vendors to choose from and uncertainty about local availability.
One supervisor suggested that if staff cannot find another qualified bidder, the board should proceed with the present quote. The board approved a motion to table the item and directed staff to solicit at least one more bid and return the item to the board for final approval.
No contractor was selected at the meeting. Staff will solicit additional bids and return with comparative pricing.
