During the second reading County Finance staff outlined adjustments that included vehicle purchases for two additional school resource officers, audio‑visual equipment for public engagement, added roadside mowing tractors in a special fund and end‑of‑life 9‑1‑1 dispatch equipment. Staff also added Baker Hill water infrastructure to the special fund list.
The presentation noted the draft budget continues a multi‑year trend of declining countywide operations millage; the county’s rollback was described as producing one of the lowest county operations millage rates among nearby jurisdictions. Staff said the capital program included roughly $190 million in projects as a principal driver of spending plans.
After questions, the board voted to adopt the second reading and the ordinance. The county clerk recorded the motion as carried with no opposing votes on the record.
