The change order would use that credit plus $31,062.18 in city funds to rebuild shoulders, repair a ditch and replace a damaged pipe along Tenth Street, including the stretch adjacent to the Humane Society and the old workshop. Staff said the road is shared by county and city facilities but recommended the city pay to finish the work to support a nearby workforce housing development.
Commissioners approved a 60‑day extension for contract closeout and processing of grant reimbursement and then approved change order number 4 for $31,062.18. Commissioner Kerrigan moved the change order; Commissioner Hoffman seconded. Vote tally was recorded as 4 in favor, motion passed.
Commissioners asked staff to monitor truck traffic on the rebuilt route and consider a “no through trucks” restriction to limit heavy vehicles from cutting through the residential area. Staff said funds to cover the out‑of‑pocket cost are available from an escrowed road fund that is under budget for the year.
