The Milford City Council approved a mural easement allowing the Clermont County Convention & Visitors Bureau to install an America 250-themed mural wrap on the restroom building at 5 Points Landing Park and authorized a city contribution of up to $10,000 toward the work.
City staff said the mural will be a wrap rather than painted directly on the structure, which makes future relocation feasible if the city later decides to move the artwork to another approved public site. The easement includes terms permitting relocation and requires the CVB to cover costs of moving the wrap if the city requests it.
Council discussed location and flexibility; staff emphasized that the mural is grant-funded through the county program and that the city’s $10,000 contribution was a prior commitment that staff now sought to formalize. Council approved drafting and adopting the ordinance and suspending rules for passage; recorded votes show affirmative votes from Council Members Velardo, Price, Thompson, Cooper and Chamberlain.
Staff said the CVB is prepared to begin ordering and installing the wrap once the formal easement and funding are authorized. Council emphasized that the mural will be maintained per the easement terms and that moving the wrap in the future would be at the city’s expense.
