Council approves Potter-Larson minor subdivision for Chestnut Street property

Warren City Council on June 16 approved a proposed minor subdivision that will split the parcel at 417 Chestnut Street into three lots.
City planning and county staff recommended approval of the Potter-Larson application; the council passed the resolution by voice vote after a brief presentation by an applicant who described plans to sell the renovated rear property and to make the front unit more easily financeable for owner-occupancy. "We feel that there's a moral obligation that goes with that to the community and to the tenants that we have," an applicant said, asking the council to approve the subdivision to enable individual sales.
The council recorded five affirmative votes; the mayor was absent. No conditions or amendments were attached to the approval.
