The RSU 06 / MSAD 06 Board of Directors approved an updated 2025–26 school calendar after staff discovered a template error that left the district one student day short of the required 177 student days and 183 staff days.
Superintendent Gleeson told the board the calendar had counted a day twice in the template (a Friday/Nov.1 confusion), leaving the district short by one student day. "It's harder than you might think to set a calendar with a 183 staff days and a hundred and 77 student days ... we were 1 day short of our hundred and 77 days, so the simplest solution was to add 1 more day to get us to the hundred and 77 days," Superintendent Gleeson said.
The correction moves the last day of school to a Monday; the superintendent said that ending on a Monday "doesn't end the world" and that winter weather could change the final calendar in practice. The board approved the corrected calendar by roll-call vote with 10 members voting in the affirmative.
The superintendent said the district will post the updated calendar on the website. Board members raised no further questions during the item. The corrected calendar restores the district to the stated totals of 177 student days and 183 staff days and will be used for scheduling and planning for the coming school year.
