The Waukee City Council on June 16 approved the final plat for Torstenson Subdivision Plat 1, a 5.65-acre parcel east of Ute Avenue north of Indian Ridge Drive.
Melissa (staff member) said the owners/applicants are Ted and Tammy Torstenson. The property was rezoned from A-1 to R-1 in 2024 and a preliminary plat was approved last year. The final plat creates two lots and one outlot: Lot 1 is 2.14 acres; Lot 2 is just under 1.75 acres and contains the existing home; Outlot Z (a half-moon shape along the north side) contains floodplain and will be tied to Lot 2 for ownership and maintenance. No public improvements are required for this plat. Staff recommended approval and the council voted to approve the final plat.
