The Lacey Township Board of Education convened an executive session at the start of the meeting "for the purpose of discussing confidential student matters, including but not limited to harassment, intimidation, and bullying, confidential legal matters, including but not limited to the current caseload and confidential personnel matters," the board president said.
The board read a public notice that the subjects would be disclosed when the reasons for confidentiality subsided and estimated the executive session to last approximately 60 minutes, after which the board planned to reconvene the public meeting at 7 p.m. The board noted that action may be taken following the executive session.
The Open Public Meeting Act was referenced in the initial meeting notice read into the record. The transcript does not show the content of the executive session; the board returned to public session and proceeded with public comment and subsequent agenda votes.
Because the matters discussed were designated confidential in the announcement, the transcript contains only the board’s description of the purpose for the executive session and not the internal discussion.
