The Waukee City Council on June 16 approved a temporary use permit for a seasonal fireworks sales stand at 1100 East Hickman Road.
Andy (staff member) said the applicant, Bellino Fireworks Inc., requested a temporary permit for a roughly 2,400-square-foot tent, a storage container and associated structures on the U-Haul site in the southeast corner of Alice’s and Hickman. The requested operating dates are June 24–July 5 with proposed daily hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The fire marshal must inspect the tent after it is set up; the applicant submitted documentation from the state fire marshal, proof of insurance and site permission from U-Haul. Staff recommended approval.
Council members voted to approve the resolution. No public comment was recorded at the hearing.
