The Nashville Town Council authorized execution of a $500,000 Golden Leaf grant agreement to extend the town water system up Red Oak Road to serve a forthcoming UNC Health Nash medical facility at the address shown in the packet.
Town staff said the grant was awarded June 6 and that the grant agreement is the same form the council has used on previous Golden Leaf awards. The water-line extension will support the health care facility and the agreement must be executed and returned to the grantor. Council members moved and approved the measure by voice vote.
Staff did not identify additional local matching funds for the Golden Leaf award and recommended council approve executing the contract so the town can proceed with project planning and procurement steps as required by the grant.
