The Waukee City Council on June 16 held a public hearing and approved first reading of an ordinance to repeal and reenact Chapters 169.01 and 169.02 to readopt the city’s official zoning map.
Melissa (staff member) told the council the last official zoning map was adopted in April 2023 and that 17 rezonings have occurred since then; this readoption updates the official map to reflect those changes. No correspondence or public comment was received. Staff recommended holding the public hearing and approving the first consideration.
Council members voted in favor on first reading (roll-call votes recorded as yes by Council member Sinclair, Council member Kron, Council member Battenberg and Council member Grove). The ordinance proceeds to a second reading at a future meeting; the readoption itself is administrative and updates the official map to match previously approved rezonings.
