And member of Bristol, aye.” The board earlier reported the action in closed session and then invited Byrne to make remarks to the public and trustees.
Accepting the board’s invitation, Byrne thanked trustees and district staff and emphasized both her desire to contribute and to learn from the community. “I’m thrilled to be here tonight, and I’m thrilled to join the Snowline family,” she said. “I’m so excited to be able to come and impart my knowledge with the district. But I think most importantly, I’m just excited to learn from the community. So, I wanna thank the board for this opportunity.”
Board members and district leaders who spoke at the meeting praised Byrne’s credentials and the panel process used by the district during the search and selection. Superintendent Coleman and other speakers referenced Byrne’s prior work in other districts and expressed confidence she will support ongoing initiatives in Snowline.
The board completed the formal personnel action (appointment of Dr. Resmaa Byrne to assistant superintendent of student learning and support services, effective 07/01/2025) during closed session with a motion by Member Hernandez and a second by Clerk Lefever; trustees announced the outcome in open session. No additional personnel details (salary or contract length) were released during the public portion of the meeting.
Trustees and district leaders said they look forward to Byrne beginning in the role and to working with her on student learning and support priorities in the coming school year.
