Sanchez said the consolidated position will ensure students can come to a lab for face‑to‑face tutoring and counseling as they complete their required program.
Board members asked about program outcomes and recidivism. Staff said the district had strengthened partnerships this year—referring to increased supports and a partnership with another team—and that many students who complete the program “have done quite well.” Staff did not provide a precise recidivism rate at the meeting and said they would supply specific data on request.
The board voted to approve the allocation by voice; the motion passed. No change to program length was proposed at the meeting; staff noted the middle‑school outplacement is generally 45 days and high‑school placements are longer as outlined in district policy.
