Council hears recommendation to revoke Precise Conference Center license; police provided recent calls summary

City staff recommended revoking the business license for the Precise Conference Center at 546 East Avenue and asked the council to consider a show-cause hearing, while police provided a summary of recent incidents in the area and councilors asked for full call-for-service records.

During the work session, a staff presenter said "Mister Zemanski... his recommendation is go ahead and revoke the license," and the council indicated the issue would be raised in the regular meeting. Council members asked for a detailed call-for-service report for the property before taking action. Miss Blaylock, a city staff member, said she did not see a call-for-service log in the packet and would follow up.

Chief Barnes of the Montgomery Police Department told the council that the certified mail letter included a summary of MPD calls within the last six months: "MPD calls for service within the last 6 months includes 3 shots fired in area, 2 deaths, and 2 incidents," he said, noting additional serious incidents occurred after the initial review. Council members asked the police chief to provide the actual call-detail records for review.

The council did not take a final vote in the work session; members indicated they would discuss the matter in the regular meeting when the full records and staff reports are available.
