Ravalli County commissioners voted Monday to award the county's 2025 pavement-marking contract to Solo Marking of Billings, Montana, at a total of $61,621.25 based on the bidder's unit prices.
John, a Ravalli County Road and Bridge staff member who presented the bids, said two proposals were opened and the low bidder was Solo Marking; Highmark submitted a second proposal. “We received two bids that we opened a little over a week ago. One was from Highmark who's traditionally done the work. And then the second bid was from Solo out of Billings and they were low bidder,” John told commissioners.
Commissioners moved and seconded to award the pavement-marking bid to Solo Marking for the 2025 marking season. The motion carried on a voice vote: Jeff — aye; Greg — aye; and the third commissioner — aye.
The award is for the 2025 marking season at the unit prices proposed by Solo Marking, with the recommended total cost presented to the board as $61,621.25. Commissioners called for the question after brief discussion and there were no public comments recorded on the item.
The Road and Bridge Department will issue the contract to the successful bidder and proceed with scheduling; the board did not record additional conditions or amendments to the award at the meeting.
