Superintendent Sue Doris told the Auburn School Committee on June 18 that Principal Wood of Washburn School submitted a resignation effective in June 2025, and the district has put a recruitment timeline in place to fill the position.
Doris said staff expressed interest in serving on a hiring committee and that the district will select a hiring committee, hold organizational meetings and interview candidates with an interview window hoped for July 8. She said the goal is to present a candidate to the committee at its July 16 meeting.
Doris described steps to “support a smooth transition” and said she met with staff to discuss the process. She said the district will select hiring‑committee members and proceed through screening and interviews as outlined in the recruitment timeline handed out to committee members.
No committee vote or hiring decision was made at the June 18 meeting. Doris invited questions; none were raised during the meeting.
