Keith, identified as the Planters Days president and a Woodland Chamber participant, gave a rundown of key activities: Thursday afternoon events include a children’s parade, pet parade and coronation; Thursday evening fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday events will feature a carnival, Bridal (bridal court) activities, a fun run (Saturday at 9:30 a.m.), a farmers market at 10 a.m., a main parade at 11 a.m., a barbecue and beer garden at noon, a live fire sprinkler demonstration, frog jumping at 1:30 p.m., a firemen’s muster in the mid-afternoon, a bed race at 4 p.m., a cruise-in at 7 p.m. and a main-stage concert. Sunday includes an all-day car show and a $5,000 grand-prize raffle drawing at 3 p.m.
Organizers said some events will raise funds for local causes, and volunteers were thanked for organizing the multi-day festival.
The council provided brief comments of appreciation and encouraged community attendance.
