The Binghamton City Council on June 18 approved introductory resolution R25-38 authorizing the city to accept county funds for a mural project.
Council member Middleton introduced the resolution and described it as acceptance of money from Broome County under a New York State grant for Deco Arts to support a mural. "So, basically, this is just a resolution, for us to accept money from the, from Broome County under the, New York State greater grant for the, Deco Arts. It's basically for a mural," Middleton said.
The council took a roll-call vote and recorded six members present and voting in the affirmative; the clerk reported "That is 6 here" and the mayoral pro tem declared the motion passes. No further implementing details or the grant amount were provided during the June 18 meeting record. Staff will finalize the agreement and implement the grant per municipal procedures.
