Council announces $10.1 million First Ward DRI grant and public workshop on June 25

Council member Murray announced during the June 18 meeting that the First Ward has received a $10,100,000 grant and invited residents to a public workshop to discuss proposed uses of the funds.
"Many of you know that First Ward received a $10,100,000 grant," Council member Murray said, and asked residents and others interested in city projects to attend a second public meeting on the Downtown Revitalization Initiative. When asked to repeat the date and time, Murray confirmed the workshop will be held on June 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the First Ward Senior Center, 226 Clinton Street. Murray said presentation materials and meeting minutes will be made available to those who cannot attend and provided a project website for more information.
Murray encouraged not only First Ward residents but any city resident interested in submitting project proposals to prepare applications and reach out with questions. The announcement also noted an ongoing neighborhood-watch meeting (second Tuesday of each month) and that meeting materials will be posted online.
