Finance staff briefed the committee on the New York State budget provisions that allocate several local paving funds โ the Consolidated Local Streets and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS), Extreme Winter Recovery, PAVE New York and related state programs โ and asked the committee to accept the funds so the finance department can set up budget codes to disburse payments for paving work.
Council members asked for a paving schedule to share with constituents; staff agreed to provide the schedule. A motion to accept the funding and authorize finance to set up the codes was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
