Staff reports: Wiggles Way finished, Tacoma Green financing cleared, several RFPs moving forward

Trust staff provided project and program updates in the June 17 meeting, reporting progress on Wiggles Way, Tacoma Green financing, current RFPs and communications work.
Christie reported that Housing Nantucket has received certificates of occupancy for Wiggles Way units and shared that a local publication ran a feature on the finished project. On Tacoma Green, Christie said the developer (Halkine) received MassHousing financing letters, and the project is on track for a target construction start of Dec. 1; staff noted the primary outstanding issue is mitigation related to northern long-eared bats found on the site.
Staff also updated trustees on procurement and RFP activity: two proposals were received for the bundled parcels (Bartlett Road, Vesper Lane and Orange Street) and applicants will present proposals at a follow-up meeting; seven Amelia Street proposals were in review with two received; an RFQ for a year‑round deed-restriction monitoring agency has been reviewed by staff and the RFP committee and is expected to be on the July 9 Select Board agenda for contract award. Staff described a potential WPI project to map underutilized downtown space for housing opportunities and said the Housing Production Plan will be updated in 2026 with procurement beginning this summer.
On communications, Christie said staff is coordinating monthly with the Town’s communications manager, Florencia Rulo, and has begun social-media posts about Trust programs; staff will invite the communications manager to the July meeting to gather trustee input. Staff also introduced two summer interns supporting real-estate and housing work.
No Trust votes were taken on these updates; staff asked trustees to note the schedules and confirmed staff would bring action items back as needed at future meetings.
