Affordable Housing Trust approves up to $15,000 in closing-cost help for 21 Honeysuckle Drive

The Affordable Housing Trust voted June 17 to approve up to $15,000 in closing-cost assistance for an application tied to 21 Honeysuckle Drive.

The funding was approved after a staff presentation and a brief review by Trust members. The application was described in the meeting materials as submitted for Ricardo Espinosa and (variously transcribed) Carla/Carla Chavez; staff said the full application packet was sent separately to Trust members because it contains confidential financial information.

Dylan Mech Ampel, a staff member, introduced the application and noted that the complete record was available to trustees by separate email. Chantal Murphy made the motion to approve funding up to $15,000; the motion was seconded and adopted on a roll-call vote. Roll-call votes recorded Chantal Murphy, Brooke Moore, Forrest Bell, Penny Dye, Meg Bowers and Brian Sullivan as voting "aye." The motion outcome: approved.

Trust members asked only for confirmation that the full application was available to review and noted the reason staff had not distributed the complete packet in the public folder: it includes proprietary and financial data such as tax-identification information. Staff confirmed the documents would be re-sent to any trustee who could not initially open them.

The applicants were invited to remain for the rest of the meeting but were told they did not need to stay. The Trust did not attach additional conditions to the award during the meeting and did not set a separate implementation timeline during public session.

The Trust’s action was limited to the closing-cost assistance request on the agenda; no other related policy or program changes were voted on at the meeting.
