At the June meeting the Utica Common Council approved an appointment and amended a proposed ordinance to add a handicap sign location.
The council adopted a resolution appointing Caitlin McSorley of 2644 Edgewood Road to the Board of Assessment Review effective June 18 and expiring Sept. 30, 2029. A council member requested that McSorley's letter of intent be attached to the legislation; the clerk confirmed staff would attach it and that the appointment was contingent on receipt as indicated in the public discussion.
Separately, the council amended proposed ordinance number 4, which would add handicap parking signs to the city code's schedule. The original ordinance listed Seymour Park Baseball Field; Councilmember Robert Burmester asked to add Addison Miller and the amendment passed. The final ordinance as amended adds two handicap signs along the outfield fence line of the northern Seymour Park field, two behind the left-side dugout parking area, and one handicap sign at Addison Miller per police department discretion. The amended ordinance was adopted during the meeting.
