Miami Beach proclaims “Robin Jacobs Day” for longtime civic leadership

The City Commission of Miami Beach on Thursday presented a proclamation declaring a day in honor of Robin Jacobs for more than 30 years of civic and business leadership in the city.
Commissioner Fernandez opened the presentation saying Jacobs “loves the city of Miami Beach,” and highlighted her work leading the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce during the COVID-19 pandemic and her role co‑chairing the Education Foundation. "She did it while she was the chair of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce from 2019 to 2021… but the only 1 to lead it during a national pandemic," Fernandez said.
The proclamation credited Jacobs with work on the convention center advisory board, the chamber’s hall of fame, support for Gift of Life and marrow registry efforts, and outreach to elder care programs. Robin Jacobs accepted the honor and thanked family, chamber leadership and city officials, saying she was “deeply humbled, deeply honored.”
No formal vote or ordinance was associated with the proclamation; the commission presented it as a recognition item on the agenda. Photographs followed the presentation.
