Amaresco presents $460,711 rebate to Wappingers district after multi‑phase energy project

Representatives from Amaresco presented a rebate check for $460,711 to the Wappingers Central School District during the June 16 Board of Education meeting, thanking district staff and trustees for a longterm partnership on energy and facilities projects.

Matthew Fredina, identified in the meeting as Amaresco’s business development manager, said the company has been working with the district for more than a decade and that the rebate exceeded a guaranteed amount. “We are proud to present the district… the check of $460,711,” Fredina said.

Craig Rebecca, introduced as Amaresco’s senior project manager and a local resident, and Fredina credited coordination across district administration, principals, facilities staff and the board for the outcome. The presenters described the work as a multi‑phase project and invited board members to accept the check for the district.

Board members and the superintendent praised the collaboration. Trustee Sloshauer (noted in the meeting as concluding his board service that night) and board leadership highlighted the capital projects committee’s long effort to finalize and implement upgrades related to the district’s capital program and vendor partnerships.

District officials said the funds represent rebate proceeds tied to the project’s performance and incentives; Amaresco staff described the check as the product of a guaranteed‑savings approach and said the work has been done in phases over several years. No formal vote was required or taken on the presentation; the item was a recognition and acceptance on behalf of the district.
