The Utica Common Council on Wednesday approved three separate authorizations permitting the sale of beer and wine at upcoming local events: the FX Matt Brewing Company’s Boilermaker post-race party (Sunday, July 13), an FX Matt summer concert (Saturday, June 7) and the Santa Rosalia Festival (Aug. 22–24).
Councilors approved the FX Matt Boilermaker post-race authorization for July 13 (7 a.m.–noon); the FX Matt summer concert authorization was amended on the floor to end at midnight and approved for June 7 (4 p.m.–12 a.m.); and the Santa Rosalia Society’s festival liquor authorization for Aug. 22–24 on Mohawk Street was adopted. The council recorded voice votes for each authorization.
The ordinances identify the event sponsors and the location for each event and direct city staff to ensure proper permits and signage where necessary. Council members noted the city clerk and police department continue to process special-event permits and liquor-license paperwork; staff said the police department and clerk’s office were coordinating with event organizers to ensure compliance before events occur.
