Kiwanis group previews Labor Day market; organizers expect similar format and more food trucks

Representatives of the Sunbury Kiwanis Club presented plans for the city’s Labor Day market at the June 17 Events and Commemoration Committee meeting and said they expect to follow last year’s format with no major changes. Michelle Linton, club president, said the group is focusing on recruiting more food trucks and fewer staffed food booths to reduce labor intensity for organizers.
Linton, who identified her address during the presentation, said the club has more vendor sign-ups so far than the previous year and does not anticipate special public-safety concerns; emergency services and staff reviewed the proposal and reported no unresolved issues. Committee members encouraged the Kiwanis to coordinate with event staff to avoid conflicts with other city events and to direct potential vendors to the city’s event application process.
No formal committee action was taken; staff will continue logistical coordination with the Kiwanis Club ahead of Labor Day.
