Sunbury’s Events and Commemoration Committee tentatively identified a local representative to serve on the design review committee for the Patriots Memorial Project, part of the America 250 commemoration. Committee members discussed the selection process and the need to wait for submitted designs before identifying an appropriate memorial site.
Staff described the larger review committee as an 11-member panel including representatives from the three municipalities involved, the Veterans Commission, the Delaware County, and local heritage organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution. Committee members volunteered to serve; one committee member, Damon, was suggested as a tentative Sunbury representative and noted as a veteran. Staff said Damon would be listed as tentative and would be replaced if review workload required it.
The group noted they have not yet chosen a location for a monument in Sunbury; staff said site selection will be guided by the selected design. No formal vote was recorded at the meeting; staff will follow up with the design committee schedule and with further coordination among jurisdictions.
