Port Richey council approves $33,030 addition to Ajax paving contract

Butterfield said the addition would push the total above the $450,000 previously approved by $7,041; he recommended covering the overage from the public works operational budget. The council moved, seconded and voted in favor; the motion carried on voice vote.
Council members asked only procedural budget questions. Butterfield said he would confirm with the finance director whether separate construction funding remains for the related Grand Boulevard project and noted that any larger construction authorization would return to council when bid documents are ready.
The authorization approved at the special meeting covers the immediate payment only and does not finalize related Grand Boulevard construction budgeting, which city staff said will return to council once permitting and engineer input are complete.
The council took the vote during the meeting's business session and immediately moved on to other council comments and planning items.
