The Commissioners Court adopted a multi‑factor authentication (MFA) policy to govern implementation of an MFA system the county purchased earlier in the year.
John (county IT) said the county has already procured the InfraVada MFA system and is in the process of implementing it; the policy formalizes how MFA will be applied across county accounts and who will manage exceptions. "We need the policy in place for everyone just so they know it's there," John said, explaining the policy was legally reviewed and vetted with security consultants.
The court voted to adopt the policy. Staff said the MFA rollout will continue with coordination among IT, elected officials and county departments, and that the policy provides the governance framework for required authentication changes and exemptions where appropriate.
