County staff said the nonprofit had originally budgeted part of the award to hire a peer recovery support specialist, but delays in acquiring the building had postponed that hire. The organization asked to redirect the entire award toward purchasing the building so the project can proceed.
Commissioners voted to approve the budget modification by voice vote. The approval moves the previously earmarked funds from personnel costs to real property acquisition within the scope of the existing grant award.
Commission staff did not report any additional conditions or new reporting requirements at the time of the vote. The county will process the budget modification consistent with its opioid-settlement grant procedures.
