Select Board members on June 16 asked the public to help fill multiple committee vacancies and reviewed a set of administrative announcements.
Brandon, staff member, asked the board to make it a regular reminder that the town needs volunteers for committees that are "understaffed" and said more community involvement is needed to get projects done. Board members later requested that a compiled list of open positions be prepared and reviewed at the next meeting.
Announcements read by staff included:
- Town offices will be closed Thursday, June 19 for the holiday. - Quarter 1 and quarter 2 real estate tax bills will be issued for July 1 after a software upgrade; both quarters will print on one page. - Dog licenses are past due and a $10 late fee will be imposed. - The town submitted a STRAP (sidewalk) grant and an ADA improvement grant for a handicap ramp at the senior center; the park grant application for the town common was signed during the meeting. - The electronic town sign (LED) appears to be out of service.
Board members asked staff to compile a list of committee vacancies (Parks and Rec, Downtown Development, Finance Committee, others) and to return with details at the next meeting.
