Scottsdale City Council continues charter officers' contracts, approves temporary raise for acting auditor

Vice Mayor Jan De Boscas introduced the motion for the acting city auditor, saying, “I move to approve a temporary pay increase for the acting city auditor to a new base salary of a $185,000 to be effective, and retroactive to the June pay period.” The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote with all council members present responding “aye.”
The council also moved to continue the city attorney’s contract at a base salary of $319,009.60 and to make that continuation effective retroactive to the beginning of the June 15, 2025 pay period. A separate motion continued the city manager’s contract at a base salary of $372,000, also retroactive to the June 15, 2025 pay period. Both motions passed by unanimous voice vote.
Additionally, the council continued the city treasurer’s contract at a base salary of $280,000, effective and retroactive to the June 15, 2025 pay period, and adjusted the treasurer’s pay grade to 44. The council continued the city clerk’s contract at a base salary of $230,000, retroactive to the June 15, 2025 pay period, and adjusted the clerk’s pay grade to 40. Both actions passed unanimously.
All votes were taken following an executive session the council held to discuss the compensation, appointment and related personnel matters of charter officers and to consult with attorneys for legal advice. The meeting record states that all council members were present when the votes were taken.
