PRINEVILLE — The Prineville City Council appointed Councilor Steve Eppelmann as council president during a brief meeting in which there were no staff reports, no consent agenda and no public appearances.

A council member moved "to appoint councilor Eppelmann as council president," and a second was heard; the motion passed on a voice vote after the chair called for ayes. The transcript records the verbal vote as "Aye" with no roll-call tally recorded. After the appointment the council immediately moved to adjourn; that motion was also seconded and carried on a voice vote.
