The Auburn City Council voted to postpone action on two proposed contracts tied to operations of the Wright Street parking deck, sending both items to the July 8 meeting for additional review.
Councilmembers moved to postpone a $147,267.60 service agreement with FlashPark, Inc. for parking access and revenue control hardware and software, and a separate management-services agreement with Last Parking Georgia LLC (an $8,000-per-month services fee plus a non-guaranteed annual incentive) that would govern day-to-day deck management. City staff identified the contracts on the consent agenda; councilmembers requested more time to review alternatives and operational details.
Acting City Manager Will Cummings said the deck is “starting to mature” and that staff would request a work session so councilmembers could better understand operations, revenue and management options for the roughly 350-space facility. Councilmembers said they wanted further context on how the deck functions, which agencies or contractors would be involved, and details about service-level expectations before committing to multi-month contracts.
Both items were postponed by unanimous procedural votes and will return to the council on July 8. Staff said they will coordinate a work session with councilmembers prior to that meeting to walk through operational data and options.
