The Wausau Plan Commission on June 17, 2025, opened and then closed the public hearing on a conditional‑use permit for 508 East Wausau Avenue, a proposed seven‑stall accessible parking lot intended to serve Athletic Park, after receiving a late written comment from a nearby property owner.
Brad, a planning staff member, told the commission a printed email from Shannon Yeager of 510 East Wausau Avenue — the property immediately east of the subject site — arrived late and was entered into the record. Brad summarized Yeager’s concerns: landscaping and separation between properties, snow removal and maintenance, removal of a fence and firewood, lighting and the placement of a bike rack.
A rendering shown at the meeting depicts a seven‑stall accessible lot for Athletic Park. Brad said the public‑hearing portion of the process was being closed and that the commission would receive a staff recommendation and the full packet, including the rendering and public comment, at a future meeting when the commission takes action on the conditional‑use permit.
With no one present to speak at the hearing, the chair closed the public‑hearing record for 508 East Wausau Avenue.
