The Select Board reviewed a draft agreement with Turner Group, the firm the town building committee selected to produce concept designs for potential municipal building options, and voted to sign the contract if legal counsel approves the draft.
The building committee previously selected Turner to produce three concept options, including one option for a police building. The contract is phased; the presenter summarized the high-level phasing and said the committee’s goal is to present three options to the public by National Night Out and to have a single recommended concept prepared before budget season so residents can evaluate costs ahead of the warrant process.
During the meeting a motion was made to refer the draft contract to counsel for review and to sign it after counsel’s approval. A Select Board member seconded the motion and the board voted in favor.
The presenter indicated the phases align with the capital planning timeline and with the amount the town is aiming to accumulate in the capital reserve fund, enabling public information and feedback between October and March ahead of budget season and any warrant article consideration.
