Sylvania City Council on June 16 approved the final change order for the Main Street reconstruction project, increasing the contract by $1,485 to cover additional seeding and mulching.
Mister Shaw told council the project began around July 15 of the prior year and was about 98% complete before spring restoration work delayed final closure. "This 1 is a really small amount, $1,485, really all tied to the the seating effort that happened which is shipped in 2025 with the project," Shaw said. He stated that grass restoration is now growing and the contractor returned to finish the remainder of the work.
Nut graf: The change order brings the final contract amount to $1,126,001.33, about 6.5% over the original contract total, according to staff. The council approved the increase on an emergency ordinance reading.
Council Member Richardson introduced the ordinance authorizing the mayor and director of finance to approve change order number 3, final, to the city's agreement with Geddes Paving and Excavating; the motion passed by voice vote.
Ending: The contract will be closed out with the approved final amount; staff did not identify additional pending work for this project at the meeting.
