Riversport Foundation reports higher earned revenue, lower donated support; 160 students competed in youth rowing

Chris, a Riversport Foundation representative, said through May earned income and total revenue exceed budget while charitable donations are behind budget due to timing differences. Operating expenses were below budget and EBITDA was above budget for the year to date.
Chris highlighted program activity: Riversport hosted a youth rowing championship on May 10 that drew about 160 student athletes from 17 Oklahoma City schools, many of them Title I schools. He said three high-school teams competed at a national regatta in Sarasota, Florida, and Riversport is subsidizing school rowing programs — $2,500 for a semester or $5,000 for a full year per school — with donors and sponsors covering the cost so the fees are not passed to schools.
The foundation also reported that monthly learn-to-row programs are running from May through September, and a free community learn-to-row day drew nearly 100 participants. Upcoming events listed by Chris included International Olympic and Paralympic Day on June 23; the Stars and Stripes River Regatta on June 28 (first race at 7:30 a.m., night sprints under lights, fireworks after final race); a floating film on July 18; PaddleMania on July 19; the River Bowl on Aug. 2; and Swiftwater championships in August.
