River authority adds Brum Dam hinge repair to active projects; May Dam work slowed by runoff

The report from James Jeschumway, Oklahoma City Public Works, said recurring rain events have slowed work on the May Dam rehabilitation project and other floodway work. Jeschumway said crews continue sediment removal, bank stabilization and anchor-point work in the May Basin while the Eastern Basin amphitheater moves into lighting and paving phases.
Jeschumway said automated controls for the dams have been strengthened: "We've also had some significant upgrades to our SCADA system... added several new cameras and and servers" to keep automated operations functioning. He also reported river crews have removed 128 cubic yards of debris.
"There is 1 new project that it'll be added to the, to the list of active projects is, the Brum Dam, hinge repair," Jeschumway said, describing a recent damage to the Brum Dam boat lock and plans to put the repair out for bid.
The authority voted to accept the river project summary as presented. The motion and vote were recorded as passing during the meeting; no individual mover or second was specified in the transcript.
The update made clear short-term work remains weather-dependent and that staff are balancing sediment removal, bank stabilization and repairs to mechanical systems while finishing amenity work such as the amphitheater.
