Resident (meeting commenter) told the Town of Templeton during public comment that she had brought a collection of teapots from the Narragansett Historical Society that the group uses at its annual "Tea in the Garden." "I brought the teapots from the Narragansett Historical Society, and we use these teapots at the annual tea in the garden," the resident said.
The commenter said she hosted the event last year and discovered a wide range of teapots while preparing them. "I didn't realize what a variety we had until I pulled them out to wash them for the tea event. I hosted it last year, so I got in there up close and personal with them all. And I'm like, look at all these. I couldn't believe what we had," she said, describing teapots that were "old ones, new ones, delicate China ones" and others that looked like metal or a small stove.
The resident described the event as a June offering that charges $5 and provides attendees "a pot of tea and a plate of assorted goodies" to enjoy in the garden. She said the display of different teapots is a highlight for visitors.
Her remarks were made during the public comment portion of the meeting; no formal action or town vote on the event or the collection was taken at the session.
