Jupiter receives county COPCN; town Fire Rescue readies stations for 2026 service start

A Jupiter Fire Rescue representative told the Town Council on June 17 that the town has been granted a pilot program Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity, or COPCN, by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and that Jupiter will be ready to provide fire and emergency medical transport services when the department becomes operational next year.
The COPCN was recommended unanimously by the county EMS Advisory Council and was approved unanimously by the Board of County Commissioners on June 10 for the period Oct. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2028.
