Assistant City Manager Dina Drumgo told the commission that the city needs a formal amendment to an FDOT public transportation grant for airport security fencing to extend the agreement’s expiration date from June to Oct. 30.
Drumgo said the original grant award was for $80,000 to install security fencing at the municipal airport and that the project’s completion schedule runs into July; the extension is a routine contract amendment to align the agreement with the expected construction timeline.
No additional local funding was requested at the work session; staff said the resolution before the commission simply amends the grant timeline, extending the agreement through Oct. 30 to allow closeout and final invoicing under the FDOT award.
