City staff told the commission the City of Lake Wales has an approved agreement for an emergency management grant to acquire an emergency generator the city has pursued since 2022.
Special projects administrator Sarah Irvine said the project agreement has been reviewed by the Department of Emergency Management, city attorneys and the consultant team. Irvine said the total grant amount for the project is $153,273; the subrecipient cost-management contract for Haile Innovations is $7,280, and staff said the combined total available with both grants and subrecipient funds is $160,553.
Irvine also said the city’s local share of the emergency management grant is $43,071.75. She said the agreement had been delayed and briefly pulled because of federal election-related administrative changes but that state and city approvals are now in place.
Commissioners thanked staff and noted the consultant relationship. Staff did not request additional city funding for the purchase at the work session; staff said the grant and associated subrecipient funding will cover the project costs under the current agreement.
