The Government Operations & Regulations Meetings body approved Resolution RS20251295 to allow Pizza and Pub, at 1051 Donaldson Avenue, to obtain a beer permit under the Metropolitan Code after the applicant described earlier temporary permits and a patio paperwork issue.
During the meeting, an applicant identified himself as Eric Brody and introduced Eddie Anderson as his business partner. Brody told the panel that Metro staff had contacted the business about 10 days to two weeks before it opened and that the city issued a temporary beer permit so the restaurant could open. He said a later paperwork issue prevented use of the patio until Memorial Day weekend, when the patio was approved for use.
Brody said the restaurant has been welcomed by the Old Hickory Village neighborhood and described the location as walkable and adjacent to a future community center. “This place is gonna be absolutely great for the Old Hickory Village neighborhood,” he told the panel.
The body moved and seconded RS20251295, opened the floor for discussion, received the applicants' remarks and then approved the resolution on a voice vote. No recorded opposition or abstentions were indicated in the transcript for this item.
The resolution was considered under the Metropolitan Code distance provisions cited on the record as “section 7.08.090” during the reading of agenda items.
Eric Brody requested the panel's support, noting the business had already opened with a temporary permit and that the patio approval made a “big difference” for the business. The panel voted to approve the permit request.
