With no sheriff’s office representative at the meeting, commissioners agreed to postpone action to allow further discussion with the sheriff about staffing plans and budget capacity.
Commissioner Vermillion moved to table the matter so the board can consult with the sheriff’s office; commissioners seconded and approved the tabling by voice vote. Staff noted the initial application deadlines fall in late June/early July (first part due June 25; additional materials due July 1), allowing time for further review.
