Prospera outlines small-business support, community projects in Livingston

Prospera, a Montana nonprofit that provides business advising, loans and community development support, reintroduced its services to Park County commissioners on May 27 and outlined local programs in Livingston.
Paul Reichert, executive director of Prospera, described the organization’s work in access to capital, business advising, community development and peer networking. “We help people in business. We help people in our communities find pathways to success,” Reichert said. He noted Prospera’s 40th anniversary and said the organization has helped more than 11,000 business clients and supported about $100 million in regional investment.
Reichert gave examples of local projects and clients, including assistance to new storefronts, job-creation grants and community redevelopment efforts. He said Prospera offers a monthly in-person free business counseling day in Livingston and provides loans and grants, plus private funding from memberships and sponsorships to support its programs.
Reichert told commissioners Prospera is the Montana Department of Commerce–designated retail development corporation for Gallatin and Park counties and said workforce development and affordable housing remain top challenges for businesses in the region. He offered to meet with county staff and commissioners for further collaboration; no formal action was required or taken on the presentation.
