Orange City reopens council chambers; announces summer events and hurricane-prep resources

Maddie McAllister, public information officer for the City of Orange City, said the restored meeting space will host the June 10 council meeting and noted a follow-up community event, Coffee with a Council member, scheduled for Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m. The Coffee Chat will feature At-Large Council Member Dana Knight.
The city also promoted a family-oriented “Fireworks and Fun” celebration set for Saturday, June 28 at 5 p.m., which the announcement said will include food trucks, family activities, live music and a fireworks show, plus a red, white and blue pie-baking contest. A separate Parks photo contest was noted with entries due by June 30; the announcement said contest details are available on the city’s website.
McAllister reminded residents that hurricane season has begun and directed the public to the city website’s hurricane-preparedness tab for checklists, shelter information, planning resources and the “OC Before the Storm” video series. "Stay informed, stay connected, and we'll see you at the next OC minute," McAllister said.
The city characterized the updates as informational; no formal policy changes, votes or council directives were announced in the municipal minute.
