County to quitclaim 0.86-acre parcel on Highway 94 East to Industrial Development Authority

Mr. McLeod told the board the parcel is surrounded by Industrial Authority property, the county is not using the parcel and has no plans to use it, and the authority plans to combine the parcel with its adjoining property for industrial development. A proposed quitclaim deed was included in the board packet. The board approved the conveyance and authorized the chairman to sign the deed; a second was recorded and the chair declared the motion carried by voice vote.
Why it matters: Conveying small, unused county parcels to economic development authorities can facilitate site consolidation for industrial development and eliminate county maintenance responsibilities.
