County planner Mr. Dillard presented the request and noted the subject property is a 10-acre parcel from which Williams seeks to subdivide a 2.5-acre tract. “The current zoning pattern ... is EA. Subject property in its entirety is 10 acres. Mr. Williams is hoping to subdivide off 2 and a half,” Dillard said. Staff and the county planning commission recommended approval unanimously.
At the public hearing, a speaker identifying himself as the property owner, Joseph Williams, said he had discussed the request with adjacent neighbors and that they supported the application. The board opened nominations and reappointed the rezoning by motion; the chair called the voice vote and declared the motion carried.
Why it matters: The rezoning permits a subdivision consistent with the county's agricultural character area and brings the new lot into conformity with county land-use rules. No opposition was recorded during the public hearing.
